Mindfulness Based Living Retreat

This day retreat will be experiential and is designed as a helpful first step in developing your own mindfulness practice or as a way of refreshing your existing practice.

The retreat will include a mindful movement class in the form of gentle flow yoga, mindfulness practices for recognsing the distracted mind and learning how to settle, ground and rest the mind, mindful walking through nature and learning about how we can use our body as a support to the present.

'Nature Nurtures' Healing Day Retreat

Yoga & Acoustic Guitar Half Day Retreat

9am - 11am Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class with acoustic guitar & light meal and valley walk after

Cost: R400 and Teachers Dana (Donation for the visiting teacher)

Retreat into Self with the transformative modalities of yoga, sound and nature.

We will go on a two hour journey into stillness, with a rejuvenating Slow Flow yoga practice accompanied by the sound of the acoustic guitar to allow us to relax and soften into an even deeper layer of ourselves.
This will be followed by a healthy plant based lunch and a mindful walk in the beautiful Nkutu Valley, ending with a meditation at the waterfall.”

Finding Your Balance Day Retreat

The retreat with include Hatha Yoga with balancing pranayama  (breathing practice) and hand mudras. We will also focus on balance postures as a way to calm and align the body and meditation practices as a foundation to settle, ground and rest the distracted mind in order to feel more centred and grounded in day to day life.

Booking Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend an event, please consider offering your registration as a donation to the environmental work done by The Waterfall Retreat Centre in the Nkutu Valley. If you would prefer a credit toward a future event, contact us by 5pm at least two business days prior to the event by emailing: This email address is being protected from spambots. Credits can be transferred once towards another event and must be used within 6 months of their date of issue.

No credit or refund is available if you cancel after the deadline.

  • What to bring to a retreat
  • A hat and sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Yoga mat
  • Warm blanket/shawl for meditations
  • Layered clothing for winter
  • Good walking shoes
  • Chairs and cushions are available; but if you have a favourite cushion, please bring it.
  • You will be asked to remove your shoes prior to entering the studio; you may want to wear or bring warm socks.
  • Please wear layered clothing as the studio temperature can vary from cool to cold.
